Robinson Ramblings

We had a nice Thanksgiving Day dinner at Brent's sister's house with the Watson clan. It was very relaxing for me (we just brought an appetize). On Friday afternoon all the family (except Brent) met at our house for another Thanksgiving dinner. This one was exhausting but so much fun!! Becca, Hollie, & I made tons of food. Kelly's friend, Justin, joined us for the feasting and giving of thanks! Thanksgiving at Jamie & Thad's house My sweetie! Well, I didn't have much of a fall this year. . . not because fall ceased to exist but because I was sick for most of it!!! However, I am blessed with a wonderful family that cared for me and gave me some great photo opportunites!! I am so thankful for God's many blessings this year. Becca, Henry, and Jack helped Papa rake and clear our yard of a carpet of leaves. I think that they filled 11 bags of leaves. The boys earned some money because they worked so hard!! We all had fun, too!

We had a fun weekend recently when my cousin, Joy, came to Meridian for a visit. We had a scrap-a-thon at Archivers, drank coffee, ate good food (including Kringla that Becca made) & talked & talked! Of course, Joy & the girls acted up a bit but hopefully I was a good influence (tee hee)! I wrote this in an email to Joy: "Our camping time was cut short because Rich got a lead on a job!! He needed to get back so he could get all of his information (resume, application, etc) in on Monday. Then Tues. he had an interview, Wednesday he found out that he got the job and  he started on Thurs. Whew!! What a whirlwind!  He is working as a Transitional Education Specialist for Canyon Springs High School in Caldwell. He spends most of his time with boys in a detention facility - helping them to keep up with their studies. He will be continuing to stay connected to them after they are released from detention. His job is to assist them in whatever way possibl...

Create your own scrapbook We had two wonderful weeks in McCall this summer. Rich, Fergie, and I went up in June and Hollie and her dogs, Van and Lucy, joined us for two days. Then last week, we headed north again with Hollie and three dogs (she added her room mate's dog, Moe, too). Derrick and Susie joined us on Monday night & then Kelly and her friend, Bethany, arrived on Tuesday night. Another friend of Kelly's, Justin, was able to drive up on Wednesday night and stay until the next day. We had a wonderful time of eating, visiting, hiking, swimming, shopping (Susie & I), and hanging out around the campfire. It went too fast for me but we console ourselves and say, "There is always next year."

Henry had his kindergarten graduation ceremony and his birthday party (it really was his birthday) on the same day. What fun to see him learn, mature, and hit two big milestones (he is 6)! He is such a precious boy! He is posing at his party with Jack and his cousin, Ben. 

Although we are enjoying summer - we haven't had too many lazy days yet. We did get up to Ponderosa State Park in McCall for a week & that was relaxing! The next week, however, was super busy getting ready for VBS (10 hour days at church & then I came home & worked some more). This week is VBS & it has been great.Our theme is "Investigation Destination: Following Clues to the King of Kings." The kids have been learning alot & having such a fun time doing it! Henry and Jack got to come to VBS yesterday & I loved having them there. They had fun too! The gospel is being presented in almost every facet of the morning & the kids are learning God's Word. What a blessing it is to be a part of it (however, I am NOT going to direct it next year - two years in a row are enough for awhile). We have had an average of 105 children everyday! Becca helped out in games (she is in the pink pants). Jack is marching under the parachute.

I've been wanting to post some new pictures of Henry & Jack. Here are some cute ones that Becca sent me this weekend. The first two are right after their hair cuts. The last two are when they went to the Monster Car Rally with their Daddy! Please be praying for my sister, Cheryl, today. She came home from the hospital yesterday (after her open heart surgery) and has been experiencing some bumps in the road. It is hard to be so far away - wish that I could do something for her. However, I know that Dwight is taking good care of her & the people in the church are caring for their needs, as well.

Since we didn't get out a Christmas picture or any cards, I am going to post a bunch of pictures on my blog instead!! We trust that you had a wonderful Christmas observing the birth of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords! We love all of you and pray for you regularly. This year has given us many opportunities to trust our Lord to take care of our needs physically, financially, and most of all spiritually! He is so gracious and loving - giving us above and beyond what we need. He provided a wonderful new home and a fabulous trip to Washington (both in August). We are praying for a job for Rich that will provide us with a way to meet our obligations. We know that He has something in His plan for us!  We stayed in this cute apartment above Lloyd's shop. Derrick and Susie spent Friday evening through Sunday afternoon with us. On Sat. we went to the Oregon coast and to the Tillemook Cheese Factory.  Debbie took us sight seeing on Monday...

Rich and I were able to drive to visit some friends in Washougal, Washington where we met up with Derrick and Susie Robinson. The first few pictures were of us driving along the Columbia River - the view was gorgeous! When we arrived at Lloyd and Debbie's home, we were delighted with their beautiful property, stunning views, and amazing hospitality!
